Entire Contents  2016 Taft

A 216,000 square foot speculative office building on a linear suburban site is bounded by a residential neighborhood street and a freeway. Three distinct entrance motor courts break the mass of the two story structure into four smaller scale units on the neighborhood edge. The west side is given a much larger scale reading appropriate to establishing a presence on the freeway. Precast concrete screens provide sun shading and accommodate porches and balconies. Parking is on two levels below the office levels and the entire structure is within a 35 foot height limitation.
