The requirement for a new clubhouse, replacing an 80 year old structure destroyed by fire, was to maintain historical continuity with the club’s traditions while solving new functional relationships. The 60,000 square foot building contains numerous food and beverage facilities supported by a central kitchen, as well as locker rooms and administrative offices. The design takes advantage of the existing mature cross-axial fairways, stepping the landscape up by a series of terraces and culminating in the third level grand ballroom. Materials are rusticated concrete, brick and terra cotta.
