Texas Society of Architects Honor Award 1982

The program brief for the adaptive re-use of the 1920’s Heights State Bank into a bar and music performance hall called for additional square footage to accommodate a larger audience than could be handled in the original space. The design restores all original plaster detail while inserting new floating balconies which act as a neutral backdrop for the enhanced richness of the restored building.
